About the Mimesis 39
The Goldmund Mimesis 39 is a high‑end CD transport (sometimes marketed as a “CD turntable”) known for its heavy, solid construction and turntable‑like disc handling. It uses a top‑loading transport with a hinged cover and a dedicated CD puck to clamp the disc for improved mechanical stability during playback. The chassis is machined from solid aluminum with a thick acrylic top plate, giving it a substantial feel and distinctive industrial aesthetic. The front display is intentionally simple, showing essential information such as track number and elapsed time. A rear voltage selector allows operation on either 110 V or 220 V mains. The unit is typically shipped with transport screws engaged to lock the mechanism during transit. Approximate shipping/outer dimensions of the unit when boxed are around 22 x 18 x 14 inches, with a weight in the low‑40 lb range; the bare unit itself weighs just under 40 lb.
