About the GS 401A
The Gale GS 401A is a British three-way, infinite-baffle loudspeaker introduced in the early 1970s. Its distinctive styling combines a black cabinet and grille with chrome end panels. The driver arrangement uses two 200 mm bass drivers, a Peerless K040 midrange driver and a Celestion HF2000-derived tweeter, with controls to adjust the midrange and high-frequency levels. Published specifications give a frequency response of approximately 55 Hz–20 kHz (±3 dB) and power handling of about 60 W; figures for crossover frequencies vary among period and later sources.
