The Massdrop x Fostex TH-X00 Purpleheart headphones are a collaboration between Massdrop and Fostex, featuring closed-back design with 50 mm dynamic drivers and magnesium alloy construction. The standout feature is the use of Purpleheart wood for the ear cups, known for its high density which reduces acoustic resonance, resulting in deeper and more subtle bass response compared to the Mahogany variant. The headphones have a brilliant gloss finish on the wooden cups and matte black leatherette earpads for comfort. The design includes a 10 ft thick braided Y cable with a 1/4 inch gold-coated stereo phone plug.
