About the Electra 1007 Be
The Focal / JM Labs Electra 1007 Be is a premium bookshelf loudspeaker designed for audiophiles seeking exceptional sound quality in a compact form. It features a 25mm pure Beryllium IAL inverted dome tweeter for ultra-wideband high-frequency reproduction from 1kHz to 40kHz, paired with a 165mm (6.5") 'W' cone mid-bass driver made from a composite sandwich material that offers outstanding stiffness and lightness. The speaker has a 2-way bass-reflex design with a rear laminar port and a removable foam bung to adjust bass levels. It offers a frequency response of 46Hz to 40kHz, a sensitivity of 89dB, and a nominal impedance of 8Ω with a minimum impedance of 3.9Ω at 200Hz. The crossover frequency is set at 2000Hz, optimized for detailed and dynamic midrange. The cabinet is carefully constructed with double-radiused wooden side panels and internal fiber filling to reduce standing waves and vibrations, with a curved front baffle to minimize diffraction. The speaker weighs approximately 15kg and measures 385 x 264 x 350 mm (HxWxD). It is praised for its transparent, detailed, and dynamic sound reproduction, capable of handling up to 90W of amplifier power. The Electra 1007 Be is no longer in production but remains highly regarded for its build quality and sonic performance.
