About the PS-01F
The Esoteric PS-01F is a dedicated external power supply designed exclusively for the preamp audio circuitry of the Esoteric F-01 and F-02 top-of-the-line integrated amplifiers. It implements the power supply design philosophy of the flagship Grandioso C1X preamplifier, isolating the preamp section (handling small signals) from the power amplifier section (handling large currents to speakers). This separation and capacitance increase—from 18,800μF to 27,200μF × 2—deliver finer details, superior dynamics, richer sound, and excellent channel separation. Key components include a large 200VA toroidal transformer (10x capacity needed for preamp), high-capacitance rectifier, rigid thick aluminum enclosure, Esoteric’s Pinpoint Isolation Feet (patents #4075477 and #3778108) with optimized three-point positioning, semi-floating top plate, and a high-quality 1.5m DC cable. It connects via umbilical for improved responsiveness to dynamic changes and vibration reduction.
