About the CD-E5 Edition
The East Sound CD-E5 Signature Edition is a premium CD player designed by engineer W.K. Fung, featuring a very warm and musical sound signature. It is built with substantial aluminum casing and weighs 13 kg, emphasizing mechanical stability and isolation. The player uses a Philips VAM1202 transport mechanism mounted on a 5mm thick aluminum plate for enhanced stability and employs a G9 Pro digital servo system for ultimate reading accuracy. It includes a true balanced analog output stage with isolated pure Class A full balanced output circuits for both RCA and XLR outputs, utilizing high-end capacitors such as WIMA Black Box and secret formulated non-magnetic inductors. The power supply is robust, with multiple WIMA Black Box capacitors and a handmade toroidal transformer designed to reduce electromagnetic interference. The Signature Edition is fine-tuned with internal cabling upgrades, including Analog Research Silver SE wiring, and offers both RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs along with digital outputs (coaxial and optical). It delivers a sound with stunning micro and macro dynamics, natural mid frequencies, and exceptional bass and treble extension, providing a detailed and smooth sonic presentation with a wide and deep soundstage. The player is highly regarded for its build quality, sonic performance, and value in the high-end audio market.
