About the Aletha
The Dunlavy Audio Labs Aletha is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker with a distinctive hexagonal cabinet. It uses a 25 cm (10-inch) woofer mounted inside the enclosure and firing downward, with a closed internal volume and a Helmholtz-like resonator intended to produce omnidirectional bass radiation. The woofer is crossed over to two 17 cm (6.5-inch) bass/midrange drivers at approximately 80 Hz, while a 2.5 cm (1-inch) fabric-dome tweeter handles high frequencies. The drivers use Dunlavy’s phase-coherent, symmetrical layout, and the crossover follows a minimum-phase-error design. The cabinet is approximately 136 cm (52 inches) tall and 41 cm (16 inches) wide at its widest point.
