About the Gibbon Nines
The Gibbon Nines are a 2.5-way floorstanding loudspeaker measuring 8.5" W x 14.5" D x 38" H and weighing 58 lbs. They feature a single side-firing woofer, a front-mounted mid/woofer on top, and an offset 0.75" silk-dome tweeter built in Europe to DeVore's specifications, with response up to 40kHz and no breakup. The design includes two separate bass reflex chambers with different port tunings to spread out energy peaks and minimize amplifier interaction. The speakers have a nominal impedance of 8 ohms (minimum 5.6 ohms), a sensitivity of 91dB, and bass extension down to 31Hz. They offer a narrow, medium-size footprint with high placement flexibility and are made in NYC with finishes such as walnut. The Gibbon Nines aim to provide lucid detail, rich tonality, focused imaging, and an enveloping soundstage in a compact, room-friendly package, positioned as a mid-tier model between the Super Eight and Silverback Reference.
