About the Zen Ultra
The Decware Zen Ultra is a hand-made all-tube preamplifier offering 6 channels grouped into 3 stereo pairs (Front, Rear/Center/Sub, and additional), each with its own volume control, allowing use as three separate stereo preamps or for home theater setups. It supports 4 pairs of stereo inputs per section with rotary selectors, direct and mixed modes for surround processing (converting center/sub to mono in mixed mode), and outputs mirroring inputs for balanced control. Tube complement includes 8x 6N1P-EV signal tubes, 4x OA3 voltage regulators, and 1x 5U4G rectifier (compatible with 5U4, 5AR4, 5Y3GT). It provides high output voltage (5-6V max), minimal signal path, and is built for durability with no user-serviceable parts beyond tubes. Optional upgrades like stepped attenuators and premium capacitors available. Sold factory-direct with 30-day trial (less 10% restock).
