About the Component

Core Audio Designs' Component racks in the plyKraft Series (2L/3L/4L) are rigid, high-mass, low-resonance audio racks designed for demanding hi-fi systems. They use massive 2" domestic high-density Apple-Ply shelves (34 hardwood laminate layers) and fine hardwood uprights in species such as Rift White Oak, Black Walnut, Natural Maple, Natural Cherry, African Sapele, African Bubinga, African Wenge, and African Zebra. The design emphasizes open architecture for airflow and heat dissipation, furniture-grade joinery, and uses adjustable 304 stainless steel spikes and coasters for mechanical isolation. The earlier MOD Series MOD4 v.2 rack is a related, but distinct, modular hardwood rack whose shelves include user-fillable damping chambers preloaded with a mixture of lead shot, clay, and sand and aluminum cladding for EMI/RF reduction; that lead-and-clay chamber construction belongs to the MOD v.2 rack, not to the plyKraft component racks.
