About the AL III
The Carver AL III is a two-way dipole loudspeaker system combining a 48-inch ribbon driver for frequencies above 150 Hz with a downward-firing 10-inch woofer in a vented enclosure for lower frequencies. It has separate binding posts for the ribbon and woofer, allowing bi-wiring or bi-amplification, and three level controls for adjusting its response to the listening environment. The ribbon radiates sound from both front and rear. The system is rated at 34 Hz–20 kHz anechoically, with a lower limit around 24 Hz in a typical room.
