Edge A

About the Edge A

The Cambridge Audio Edge A is a premium integrated amplifier designed for audiophiles seeking exceptional musicality and technical precision. It delivers 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts into 4 ohms using Cambridge Audio's proprietary Class XA amplifier design, which reduces distortion and heat output by biasing a Class AB topology toward Class A operation. The amplifier features dual opposing symmetry toroidal transformers to cancel electromagnetic interference and provide consistent power and tonal stability at any volume. It includes a built-in high-resolution DAC supporting USB (up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256), coaxial, optical, and HDMI ARC inputs, enabling detailed playback from digital sources. Analog connectivity includes balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs. The Edge A supports Bluetooth 4.1 with aptX HD for high-quality wireless streaming. Its design replaces conventional capacitors with a DC-coupled topology for a cleaner signal path and uses a solid-state volume control for perfect channel balance. The amplifier weighs 53.7 lbs and measures approximately 18.1" W x 5.9" H x 15.9" D. It comes with a remote control, Bluetooth antenna, and all necessary cables. The Edge A is praised for its clarity, depth, and balance, delivering a pure and natural sound that brings music to life.
