About the DM602
The Bowers & Wilkins DM602 is a 2-way vented-box loudspeaker system introduced around 1998. It features a 180mm (7-inch) Kevlar cone mid/bass driver modeled on the Silver Signature design to reduce standing waves, and a 25mm metal dome tweeter. The enclosure is bass reflex with flared reflex ports to enhance bass efficiency and power handling. The cabinet has a double-skinned baffle with mica-filled polypropylene for acoustic damping and rounded vertical edges to reduce diffraction. It is recommended for shelf or stand mounting and is suitable as front channel speakers in home cinema systems. The DM602 has a frequency response of approximately 52Hz to 20kHz ±3dB, sensitivity of 90dB, nominal impedance of 8 ohms (minimum 3-4 ohms), and recommended amplifier power of 25 to 120 watts. Dimensions are 490mm high, 236mm wide, and 306mm deep, weighing about 9.8 to 10.5 kg. It was available in black ash or cherrywood vinyl finishes with a black cloth grille. The DM602 is known for its smooth, clear tone with strong bass and is considered a defining affordable model from B&W's 600 series.
