About the Reference 250 SE Mono
The Audio Research Reference 250 SE Mono is a flagship monoblock power amplifier featuring significant upgrades from its predecessor, including KT150 output tubes, a larger bulk power supply, and refined circuitry for superior sonic performance. It offers black backgrounds, lifelike textures, huge dynamic range, and solid-state-like bass control, making it a world-class leader in high-power tube amplification. Design highlights include a modern monochromatic front panel with an analog meter for power output and tube bias, low-turbulence silent fan cooling, balanced XLR input, 12V trigger, and speaker taps for 4/8/16 ohms. Tube complement: 3 matched pairs KT150 (power output), 1 matched pair KT150 (driver), 2 x 6H30 (gain and regulator driver), 1 x 6550C (regulator). This model is discontinued.
