About the AR3
The Acoustic Research AR-3 is a three-way acoustic-suspension loudspeaker introduced in 1958. It combines a 12-inch cone woofer with dome midrange and tweeter drivers, an early commercial implementation of dome radiators. The AR-3 was housed in a wood-veneered cabinet and included level controls for the midrange and treble. It is the original AR-3, not the later AR-3a, which used revised midrange and tweeter drivers.
