About the 4705 Progression Gemini
The 4705 Progression Gemini is a 16-bit, non-oversampling D/A converter designed around 47 Laboratory’s minimalist approach. It omits both digital and analog filters, uses passive I/V conversion, and has a claimed 35 mm signal path with only 20 parts in the Progression circuit. The Gemini is the flagship version, incorporating two Progression circuits in a single machined-aluminum chassis, with one circuit assigned to each channel. It accepts 32, 44.1, and 48 kHz signals through a single RCA coaxial input and provides one pair of unbalanced RCA outputs at 2.1 V. The unit measures 60 × 70 × 162 mm and requires a compatible 4799 Power Dumpty power supply. Its design is intended to prioritize a direct, natural presentation and low-level transient detail, though its limited input-rate support makes it most suitable for 16-bit CD-derived sources.
