Maplenoll was a niche high-end audio manufacturer best known for its innovative air-bearing turntables, such as the Ariadne and Athena models. These turntables used air-bearing technology for both the platter and the tonearm, resulting in extremely low friction and high sound fidelity. Maplenoll turntables were distinctive for their heavy build (often exceeding 100 lbs), unique mechanical designs, and esoteric operation, requiring external air compressors. While highly regarded among audiophiles for their detailed, precise sound, the company has been out of business for many years and new parts are no longer available.
