About the 860 GNSC
The Wadia 860 GNSC is a modified version of the original Wadia 860 CD player, incorporating the Great Northern Sound Company (GNSC) upgrade. This modification is designed to improve the musicality and realism of the playback, providing a more natural and engaging listening experience. The GNSC upgrade enhances the detail retrieval, sweetness, and overall sound quality, making the music feel closer and more tangible. Users report a deeper and taller soundstage, tight and punchy bass, and a great sense of width and depth in the soundstage, even with typical room and speaker placement constraints. The modification is highly regarded for its ability to reveal the intricacies of recordings and improve the emotional impact of music. The original Wadia 860 is known for its robust build quality, precise digital filtering, and a sound signature that is full, rich, and articulate, with excellent bass and natural mids. The GNSC upgrade builds upon these strengths to deliver a superior audio experience.
