The VPI JMW Memorial 10.5 SE Classic turntable is a refined analog playback system designed for audiophiles seeking exceptional sound clarity and stability. It features the Special Edition JMW-10.5i SE tonearm, a unipivot design with proprietary VPI wiring, fluid damping options, and a simplified VTA mechanism without 'on the fly' adjustment, offering most of the sound quality of the highly regarded JMW-10.5i arm at a lower cost. The turntable chassis is a solid, non-resonant laminated one-piece block made of 2.5" thick MDF with 11 gauge steel on top, finished in real black oak or walnut veneer. It includes a new investment cast aluminum high inertia platter with a precision inverted bearing, and a solid mounted AC synchronous motor providing speed stability comparable to master tape machines. The design minimizes random motion between motor, platter, and tonearm, enhancing low-level resolution and noise rejection, allowing placement near powerful subwoofers without feedback. The tonearm includes standard anti-skate adjustment and terminates with RCA jacks for flexible interconnect options. Optional accessories include a lift-off dust cover, periphery ring clamp, and an advanced power supply. Dimensions are approximately 20.75" W x 15.75" D x 10" H, weighing about 45 pounds. This model is highly praised for its fast, clean, and wide-open sound with deep, powerful bass and excellent speed stability.
