About the Off-Ramp USB Converter
The Empirical Audio Off-Ramp USB Converter (Off-Ramp 5) is a fifth-generation USB digital audio interface designed to improve computer audio playback by providing asynchronous USB input, galvanic isolation, and reclocking for lower jitter. It can be used with an existing DAC, replace a CD transport, and drive compatible DACs directly through its S/PDIF, AES/EBU, RJ-45 I2S, or HDMI I2S outputs. The product page describes it as supporting up to 24/192 playback with bit-perfect operation from Macs and PCs, and it ships with a USB cable, AC adapter, and installation software. The product is presented as a direct-sale Empirical Audio component and the page also lists optional upgrades such as Hynes regulators, Turboclock, and a Dynamo power supply.
